Air Conditioning Delete pulley and belt kit, 03-05 Neon SRT-4 / 01-10 PT Cruiser

If you'd like to delete the A/C compressor from your vehicle, allowing your engine to rev faster and produce more power, this is the proper way to do it. By eliminating the A/C compressor you'll reduce drag on the motor, and eliminate nearly 30 lbs of weight from your vehicle! Most importantly, this kit allows you to still use power steering if you choose while deleting the AC compressor and still have a properly tensioned belt.

This kit includes a brand new power steering drive belt and idler pulley that installs using one of the existing bolt bosses on the a/c bracket.

Note: The belt we provide is intended for use with the stock crankshaft pulley. If you have an underdrive pulley installed on your vehicle, you will need to use a different belt than the one provided. The best way to determine which belt you need is to install the AC delete pulley, measure roughly how much smaller the new belt must be, and ask your local auto parts store to provide you with the required belt size for installation with an underdrive pulley.

We now have the option to buy the kit with or without the belt.

The bolt that secures the pulley to the AC bracket torque spec is 21 ft lbs, or 250 inch lbs.

This kit uses the big cast iron AC condenser bracket, it stays attached to the engine.

Please be sure to look at the photos we have on this page as it shows the routing of the belt and important notes about the cast iron AC bracket.

Its MEGA important that you thoroughly clean out the threads for the bolt to make sure the bolt does not seize and break. This is because the bolt hole has been left open and not in use for the last 20 years and is likely oxidized, full of debris and rusted. Clean it out well before installation. We also recommend lubricating the threads/bolt during install.
