If you've broken your factory shift selector, you know how much of a PITA it was to find a replacement. Unfortunately you can only purchase a replacement assembly costing nearly $400 from the dealer.

We now have a solution. This billet shift selector was designed to be a factory replacement for the stock unit, and made out of billet hardened tool steel. The factory cast piece has been proven to not withstand the high demands of today's high horsepower SRT-4s. Here is the solution for all of you, available now.

In the photos above we have a photo of a brand new AGP shift selector and we have a photo of the shift selector mechanism showing the broken tab. This is what yours probably looks like if you have a broken shift selector on your transmission.

Note: We have cleaned up this item for photo purposes. You may not receive one this clean as they tend to oxide over time as they sit on the shelf. This will not cause any installation issues, the part will work as it should once installed properly.

No, this is the standard shift selector.

My Srt4 doesn't want to go in gear at higher rpm like 5000 to 6000 in gears 3&5. Would this piece solve it?

    • Modern Performance

No. You have a synchro issue, or a brass shift fork issue. Try the AGP Shift extender first (listed on our site). If that doesnt solve the problem you'd need to rebuild the transmission.

my car wont go into 2nd 4th or reverse wether the car is on or off. will this fix my problem?

It is not guarantee that this will fix your problem, you may want to look into other transmission componets that could be causing this issue.

My girlfriends srt4 is having issues with grinding/ hard to get into while going into 1st and reverse and grinding 2nd. Would this solve the issue? She can put the car into second without it grinding but she just has to really baby it to get it not to grind.

No, this will not help. This selector is designed for those situations in which the stock selector has broken and your car is stuck in one gear.

From what you have explained you either have bent brass shift forks, or bad synchros.

So how would you know that you need this part? What are the symptoms that you can tell that you need this part? I don't know anything about transmission and shifting issue, and im willing to bet a lot of other people are wondering the same???? Thanks

There are two situations in which people buy the AGP shift selector 1) Their shift selector has broken and they are stuck in a gear, unable to change gears. 2) SRT4 owners that are concerned about it breaking in the future and want to replace it.

My shift selector is broken but I got extender gears would this work

The shift selector is also the same as the 2/4/r extender, except the extender is a little bit shorter. If you have a stock shift selector you can replace it with the AGP selector, or if you have an issue with 2/4/r you can get the extender.

My car had an issue with going into gear, but now it's stuck in 5th. Will this fix my issue

If your car is stuck in 1/3/5 or neutral and you cannot get it out of gear, its highly likely your shift selector broke. You need to remove the top cover plate to inspect and confirm though.

Could I run this with the 1/3/5 gear extender or is it one or the other
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The Gear Shift Selector and the 2/4/R extender are the same piece, except the extender is longer. So you cannot run both the gear shift selector and 2/4/r extenders at the same time, you can only choose one.

You can use the 1/3/5 extender with stock gear shift selector or AGP shift selector.
