Mopar discontinued the factory T350 differential pin saver brackets used in the Neon, non-turbo PT Cruiser, and several other Chrysler applications. Rather than simply reproduce the original part, we developed an improved replacement.

Improved Design

Our brackets improve on the original Mopar design in two key areas:

More Material Around the Mounting Holes
We've seen used factory brackets develop deformation around the bolt holes. Our design adds additional material in these areas for improved strength and load distribution.

16-Gauge T304 Stainless Steel
Instead of the mild steel used for the original Mopar brackets, ours are made from thicker 16-gauge T304 stainless steel for substantially greater strength, resistance to deformation, and excellent corrosion resistance.

Each bracket is laser cut and formed entirely in the USA.

Sold as a pair.

Confirmed Fitment

  • 1995–2005 Dodge/Plymouth Neon with T350 manual transmission
  • 2001–2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser Non-Turbo with T350 manual transmission
  • 1995–1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse / Eagle Talon Non-Turbo with T350 manual transmission
  • Various 1990s Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth Stratus, Cirrus, Breeze, and Avenger models equipped with the T350 manual transmission

What Does a Differential Pin Saver Do?

Inside the differential, the spider gears rotate on a cross pin, also known as the differential pinion shaft. Under hard use, wheelspin, wheel hop, aggressive launches, or simply years of wear, the pin or its retaining mechanism can begin to move.

The differential pin saver provides a physical barrier that helps prevent the differential pin from walking out of the carrier.

This is important because if the pin moves far enough, it can contact the transmission case and potentially crack or punch through it. What starts as a differential problem can quickly result in fluid loss and a destroyed transmission.

Differential pin moves → contacts transmission case → cracks the case → transmission fluid is lost → potentially catastrophic transmission damage.

The pin saver does not strengthen the spider gears themselves. Its job is to help contain the differential pin and prevent it from escaping the carrier if the factory retention system fails.

It's inexpensive insurance, particularly for vehicles that experience increased horsepower, aggressive launches, burnouts, wheel hop, racing, hard street use, or simply have an older, high-mileage differential.
