Founded in Houston, TX in 1997, Modern Performance has spent close to 30 years doing one thing exceptionally well: helping enthusiasts get the most out of their American 4-cylinder platforms.

Our Roots

We built our reputation on the Dodge Neon SRT-4 — one of the most exciting factory performance cars to come out of Detroit in a generation. When Dodge unveiled the SRT-4 in 2003, we were ready. We went deep on the platform, sourcing and developing parts that serious builders actually needed, and became a trusted name in the SRT-4 community.

Growing With the Community

Over the years, the platforms changed — and so did we. Today, Modern Performance carries performance parts for the Neon SRT-4, PT Cruiser, Dodge Dart, Dodge Caliber SRT-4, Ford Focus ST, Dodge Hornet, Fiat 500, and Jeep Renegade. Same commitment, broader reach.

MP founding statement

Modern Performance was founded in June of 1997 in Houston, Texas. Modern Performance was created by Cory Haines on his belief that the aftermarket part distributors that serviced the 95-99 Dodge Neon were giving poor service to Neon owners.

Early Years

In the late 90's, and even to this day, the American Four cylinder car was always neglected in the Sport Compact market and MP moved in to fill the need. MP first started offering parts for the 95-99 Dodge/Plymouth Neon, then the 00-05 Dodge Neon, the 00-03 Ford Focus, and in later years expanded to fill the need for products for the 03-05 Dodge SRT-4, 05+ Chevrolet Cobalt and the 08+ Dodge Caliber SRT-4.

Modern Performance grew quickly in the first few years because of the commitment to customers, and fast delivery. MP's first warehouse was 3,000 square feet, then moved to a 5,000 square foot warehouse, and we're currently in a 8,000 square foot warehouse.

We dont believe in dropshipping from some other company, we want to ship products from our warehouse directly to you to get the product as fast as possible. MP is also very proud to have a phone support staff that promptly answers your questions. Also, due to MP hiring all of its employees that were at one point customers, we have a staff of employees that know the vehicles we carry parts for. We update our website every day for making checking out online easier and faster. You can also call us direct to place your order over the phone. If you do not see an item on our site that you are interested in getting please contact us by phone. We send all order confirmations by email letting you know if your order has shipped or if its on backorder. We will price match any competitor out there excluding Ebay and Amazon.
