Mopar TPS Wiring & Connector Repair Kit

Model Number: 220224

NOTE: BEFORE BUYING THIS KIT, OR THE TPS KIT, WE RECOMMEND YOU TEST YOUR CAR BY LETTING YOUR CAR IDLE WITH THE HOOD OPEN, AND JIGGLING THE WIRES GOING TO EITHER THE TPS WIRING (TPS CONNECTS TO THE THROTTLE SHAFT, AND THE IAC IS OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE THROTTLE BODY). IF EITHER WIRING WHEN JIGGLED MAKES A CHANGE IN YOUR IDLE THEN REPLACE THE WIRING!

Does your vehicle have an erratic idle? The factory TPS wiring that attaches to the throttle body has been known to have problems because it is too short. This causes the wiring inside the connector to go bad or break while the plastic shielding is STILL in place!

Mopar has released this TPS wiring kit to repair the wiring. It comes with new, longer wiring, and the connector for you to repair the wiring yourself.

In order to complete this repair, youll need wire strippers, a lighter to seal the heat shrinking.

When fixing the stock harness how far should you go back?

Go far enough back from the connector so that you get past the 90 degree sharp bend in the wires that creates problems. That's roughly about 5-6 inches back from the connector.

If the stock harness is failing will it trip a check engine light?

Could this be the problem if the acceleration is choppy, and misfiring?

If the OEM TPS wiring is bad, you could have all sorts of random surges, hesitation and odd driving. It could be related to this wiring, the sensor, or possibly even spark plugs/ignition wires/spark plugs.

My car holds idle at 1500 rpm when rolling in neutral, it idles down to 900 rpm when i come to a complete stop. If i disconnect the connector from the IAC the car works fine but triggers the CEL. Could the wiring be the problem? Also is there any difference in the wiring repair kits you guys have for sale or is it just the brand since one says Mopar and the other one does not.

In order to find out if you have a problem with your wiring you should leave your car running in neutral and jiggle the wires like we explained on the product page. The Mopar kit is a universal kit and has more wiring than necessary, and is not color coded. The other kit has color coded wires, and is cheaper.
