Comments: These replaced my badly worn control arms and were much needed. Getting the old arms out was very easy since the bushings were all but gone. Be very careful when removing the bolts for the sway bar bushings as they will snap off and are painful to repair/replace; I snapped two off and the other side took me about an hour and lots of heat and PB blaster to work loose. Same with the large bolt holding the back bushing in place. The other side of that bolt is just a minimally tac welded nut that can only be accessed by cutting through your floorboard to repair (I got lucky with these ones). Getting the new ones in, with polyurethane bushings, was a giant pain in the you know what. You will most likely need a friend or two to wrestle these in place and I would highly recommend lubing up everything around those polyurethane bushings with the provided grease because if you don't they squeak like crazy when driving around. I will regrettably have to pull these back out and re-grease because I didn't apply enough lube to begin with (and because I tore a boot with a 3' crowbar getting one side in place). Also wrestling these in place brought to light that my motor mounts are shot and also need to be replaced along with my sway bar bushings and end links. Do yourself a favor and replace all at once while you are taking it apart anyway :) It would be awesome if Modern Performance did some instructional videos on the best/easy way to swap these parts as well. This is the only reason for holding back a star (I don't give 5 stars lightly). |
