PCI Mechanical Conversion Timing Kit, 95-99 Neon 2.0L DOHC

Model Number: 221202-DOHC-KIT

Is your vehicle due for a new timing belt? Replace the timing belt, idler bearing and tensioner with this all inclusive mechanical conversion kit.

Introducing the PCI (Preferred Components) Mechanical Conversion Kit for the 95-99 Neon 2.0L DOHC. This kit uses a Litten mechanical timing belt tensioner, a PCI timing belt, and a PCI idler bearing. It replaces all of the mechanical components, OR allows you to convert your hydraulic system (very expensive to replace) with a cheaper, more reliable mechanical tensioner kit.

Because production 95-99 Neons used both mechanical and hydraulic kits, if you want to find out which one you currently have you'll need to check, as there's no way to find out which you have otherwise.

Note: While this kit is a direct fit replacement, some very minor trimming/clearancing of the inner timing cover may be required for an ideal fit.

Is this a direct bolt in replacement for the hydraulic tensioner setup or is there any modifications needed to get it to fit in a hydraulic tensioner setup?

Yes, that's exactly what this kit is for, converting from hydraulic to mechanical tensioner.

If you want to reuse your old bearing and timing belt, yes, its the simple- just swap out the hydraulic tensioner for a mechanical tensioner.

how many miles does this kit last? (with gates racing timming belt)

Timing belt change intervals are normally around 80-100k miles. This belt is designed for race use, which is subjected to lots of heat, high rpms, etc. This belt is not designed to make for a longer service interval (although it might), its designed to be stronger for extreme conditions in racing.
