The Boost Box is a new electronic boost controller for the Dodge Neon SRT-4. The Boost Box is remarkable in its simplicity and power. Here are the major features:

Boost by Gear
The Boost Box automatically determines which gear you are in and adjusts your boost level to your desired setting. This is crucial for maximizing the performance of high horsepower street driven cars! You can easily limit power in lower gears and still have full boost in higher gears.

Adaptive Tuning
The Boost Box can automatically learn its calibration tables as needed to make the amount of boost you program. This helps simplify the tuning process. Or if you prefer, you can take over full control using our Windows software.

Throttle Position Sensor Input
The Boost Box monitors your throttle position to adjust boost as needed, eliminating part-throttle overboost.

Easy Installation
The Boost Box installation simple. It only requires splicing 6 wires! It can work with your existing solenoid and map sensor. The connections are:

  • Power
  • Ground
  • Solenoid Output
  • MAP Sensor
  • Throttle Position Sensor
  • OBD Bus
  • Windows Software

Here is a quick rundown of the options in the software:

Boost Setpoints - Set your boost targets here for each gear. There are also more advanced options for boost by gear and RPM.

Overboost (PSI) - Set this to your maximum desired pressure. If the boost reaches this limit, it will be instantly shutdown, until you release the gas.

PID Limits (%) - This is the range over which you allow the feedback to adjust the output duty cycle. Larger values give the feedback more freedom to correct for boost falloff to redline or help with initial spool-up. Smaller values can help reduce overshoot.

Learning Range (PSI) - When the boost within this distance of the target pressure, the integral control and learning are enabled. A larger range allows the controller to adjust the calibration table for larger errors. A smaller range leads to greater stability.

Kp - Proportional gain. Higher values are higher gain, which offer faster response, but more overshoot and potential instability.

Ki - Integral gain. Lower values are higher gain. Lower values correct for errors in the boost quicker, but at the expense of stability.

The second screenshot shows the calibration table. This table will be adjusted as needed by the learning algorithm, so you may not need to ever look at this table or adjust it. If you do, it is there for you.

Free Software Upgrades
Just like the WOT Box, N2MB provides Boost Box software upgrades for free and available on the Boost Box Software page.

Compatibility with the WOT Box
Not only is the Boost Box compatible with the WOT Box, it can be turned into one. Just load our WOT Box software onto your Boost Box and it can become a WOT Box. Similarly, a Dual Feature WOT Box can be converted into a Boost Box by loading the Boost Box software. However, the two features cannot be used at the same since the wiring is different for the two functions.

Would I be able to use this and the wotbox at the same time?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

      Yes, of course.
  • chris
would you recommend this with a agp wastegate ? or will a stock wastegate be able to pull higher boost numbers with this ? i am trying to get up to around 19 psi wasn't sure if i needed to run an aftermarket wastegate if i used the boost box
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

The Boost Box is designed for use with a stock wastegate however you can use it with an AGP wastegate as you can adjust parameters in the Boost Box to accommodate for any desired boost level based on your wastegate.
  • Nijel Richburg
can this be used to control an external wastegate on a big turbo setup?
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

Yes, this can control factory turbo wastegates, and can control external wastegates on larger turbos.
  • Travis
Is it possible to hook up this and a n2mb wotbox with two step on the same car? And use all three features at the same time?
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

Yes, Wot boxes and Boost boxes can definitely be used in conjunction with each other.
  • Bryan
Does this eliminate the PCM as far as boost control goes?
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

The N2MB boost box completely takes over boost control. It uses the factory solenoids to control boost like the pcm did, however, this gives you full control over boost.
  • Phil Byers
Assuming I have no boost leaks and a properly functioning turbo, can the boost box eliminate loss of boost in 3rd gear as is common with stock SRT4 turbos? I run 19psi through 1st and 2nd but lose boost about halfway through 3rd, ending up at about 16psi going into 4th.
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The drop in boost pressure at the top end of 3rd and 4th gears happens because the pcm lowers boost pressure for safety, and due to the stock turbo just not being efficient at high rpm, high boost levels. No matter what you do, it will always drop in 3rd/4th. The boost box may help, but it is used mostly for you to gain control of boost levels, and improve traction.

How do I set this up with a 50 trim kit? Do I have to figure out the solinoids? Previous owner bypassed most of them
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes, you need to have working solenoids in place to be able to control boost with the boost box since it uses the factory solenoids.
  • Michael Bogdanowicz
With 7psi spring on external wastegate from agp kit, will this boost controller will be able to hold 25psi?

I wanna run 7 psi spring to have that boost on 1st gear and then hit about 25psi on 3rd and up gears...
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes, the Boost Box will do that for you.
