In 2018 Mopar discontinued the Caliber SRT-4 oil pump and balance shaft assembly. Two years later, no oil pump manufacturer has stepped up to make an aftermarket solution for the 2.4L Turbo engine. This has forced the CSRT community to reuse old oil pumps or search for good used motors which are getting more difficult to find.

As of February 2020, Modern Performance is excited to announce an oil pump solution for the CSRT community that is conveniently and readily available for purchase to the public! This conversion kit is a parts matched kit that replaces ALL serviceable upper timing components (cam phasers optional), ALL serviceable lower oil pump timing components, a turbo spec high volume oil pump WITHOUT balance shafts (Non Turbo pumps have lower pressure), ALL the required hardware, and detailed installation instructions with pictures, required tools, and torque specifications.

In addition to being the only turbo oil pump solution available, this kit also offers many other benefits. Because it deletes the balance shafts, it is 10lbs lighter! If your engine is rotating ten fewer pounds of cast iron counterweights while being submerged in oil, imagine how much more power can be transferred to the wheels instead of being absorbed by the original oil pump and balance shaft assembly. Deleting the unnecessary weight also takes a lot of stress off the oil pump chain, guides and sprockets. We have had customers call in and tell us stories of broken oil pump timing chains and spun rod bearings!

The kit is available with two different high quality chain options, standard duty or heavy duty. This option corresponds to both the upper timing chain and lower oil pump chain. The standard duty chains are made in the USA and will be what 95% of the Caliber customers need. The heavy duty chains have reconfigured links for less friction/heat, more link material, and larger diameter link pins for increased durability and less stretch for high performance engines. These chains are for all out builds, or for customers who want to spend a little extra to make their setup over the top.

(See our photos) The MPx gear rotor is 40% larger than the OEM oil pump gear rotor. A larger rotor increases longevity and strength. We're also able to turn the oil pump slower than the OEM pump, but yet pump a higher volume of oil due to the design of the rotor.

    can I order just the pump without the kit? And how much will it cost?

      This kit uses different tensioners, chains, sprockets than OEM Caliber SRT-4, and its a full conversion kit. You cannot buy one component out of this kit as it will not work for you.

      Yes, the engine will work perfectly after installation of this kit, the only difference will be that you'll a) have more vibration due to the balance shaft delete and B) have an additional 10-13 horsepower from not spinning balance shafts, and a faster revving motor.

      Correct, this replaces the entire upper, and lower chains/guides. So, you get three major parts to this kit: 1) Oil pump, 2) Timing chain kit, 3) Balance shaft delete. This is not just a oil pump in a box!

      Standard chain is perfect for almost all Caliber SRT-4's. If you want the best chain possible, or have a high revving, very high horsepower Caliber, then get the Heavy Duty kit.
