Are these the clips that go on top of the transmission cable bushings

  This product listing is for the retaining clip that holds the shifter cables to the top of the transmission. There are two on the transmission side, and there are (seperate product listing) two on the shifter side that secure the cables to the shifter inside the car.

  Yes, that's exactly what this is for. This is for the manual transmission shifter cables, transmission side (or inside the engine bay, two clips) . Fits 1995-2005 Dodge Neons and 2001-2010 PT Cruisers with manuals. If you need the clips on the shifter side or inside the car, see our other listing.

Does this clip also work for the automatic transmission? My cable slides into the bracket but there is nothing there to hold it in place...

  Not sure. We do not have any automatic Neons to test or compare clips with. This part does fit many Chrysler/Dodge vehicles though. You could email us measurements with a caliper and perhaps we could compare.

Do these work with booger bushings?

  This is the original clip that secures the transmission cables to the transmission. It does not matter what bushings you use further down the cables.
