Don't wait for months for some shop to rebuild a burnt up stock turbo with 175,000 miles into a big wheel stocker, this is a brand new unit. Its built from scratch to be a big wheel stocker turbo!

For those of you wanting a quick spooling turbo like the factory turbo, and with the possibility of getting up to 330-350 wheel horsepower or more with good tuning and supporting mods, this is a good option!

The factory turbo unit is comprised of two pieces, the cast iron manifold and the turbo cartridge unit. This replaces the turbo cartridge unit completely. It looks like the factory turbo, except it has larger intake and exhaust side wheels. This allows it to move larger volumes of air compared to the factory turbo.

Unbolt your stock turbo, keep the turbine spacer ring, transfer your wastegate and surge valve over to this one, and reinstall.

Stock Turbo compressor wheel specs:

  • Inducer - 43.4mm
  • Exducer - 56.1mm

Big Wheel Stock compressor wheel specs:

  • Inducer - 48.3mm
  • Exducer - 68mm

All parts are brand new OEM spec and the rotating assembly is VSR high speed balanced. If we didn't think these were well made, we wouldn't sell them. AGP recommends not exceeding 18psi of boost on these turbos, or any TD04 based turbo, as high shaft speeds will shorten the life of the turbo. However, with that being said, we have seen many SRT-4 owners with Big Wheel Stockers run 22-25 psi reliably. This turbo can make a solid 300whp at around 18psi.

Included is a CHRA with compressor housing and an oil drain gasket. You can use your factory wastegate, or use an upgraded AGP wastegate if you'd like. Transfer over your factory surge valve (or aftermarket noise plate), and your turbine spacer ring. Not installing the spacer ring will result in turbine wheel damage.

90 Day Warranty against manufacturing defects.

We do not require your old turbo in exchange. Buy this, and you are set! Remove the old cartridge, replace it with this and you're done!

Please note:

  • We recommend replacing your oil lines when installing a new turbo. If you only buy one, at least buy the oil feed (Search for part number 220229 and select #4) which has many kinks and sharp angles that can build up with sludge. Also replace the gaskets and oil feed fitting. (Search for part number 220229 and select #5)
  • Please get new oil/water line gaskets when installing this turbo. They are listed at the bottom of this page.

Can I run this turbo with a short ram intake on my stock SRT4? My stock turbo needs to be replaced & this is an affordable option.
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

Of course, you can run whatever intake you want with this turbo, as long as it has a 2.5 inch inlet. Because the factory turbo has a 2.5 inch inlet, you can use any intake thats designed for the factory turbo, ie- Injen short ram, AEM Short ram, AEM cold air, etc. You cannot use an intake that has a 3 inch, or 4 inch inlet, those are designed for bigger turbos.

My car already makes lil over 300 with stock turbo..would this make more power than? I wanna wait to get a big turbo but i wana see if this would be work until i go bigger
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

SRT-4 owners have been able to make nearly 350 wheel horsepower with this turbo with the supporting mods and a custom tune.
    • Nate Szeto
Hi, what supporting mods would you need to run a BWS? Would it need to get tuned?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

To make the most power possible with this turbo, you'd need to have intake, exhaust, intercooler, and a custom Diablosport tune.

Can i use a agp waste gate with this if i can which one should i use
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

You can use your stock wastegate actuator, or use the AGP wastegate actuator if you want even faster spool up of this turbo.
    • Daniel Bosman
Hi I have a 05 srt4 with dsp 93 Oct tune with AEM short ram and stock pretty much everything else. Would I just be able to get this and bolt it on and run it or will I have to get a custom tune?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

You can install this and run it the way it is (use a air/fuel ratio meter to make sure your car is not running too lean). For best efficiency and power, we recommend you do a custom tune though.

What the inlet size in inches?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

The inner diameter of the inlet is 1.95 inches. The outer diameter of the inlet is the same size as stock.

How come it doesn't come with a core?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

A core, is a term used for exchange. Some parts have a core exchange program, meaning you have to turn in your old one with purchase of the new one. That's for rebuilding purposes. This unit is brand new, and doesn't require a core, because there is no exchange needed. We state this, because some other Big Wheel Stocker units are based on OEM factory turbos, and they require a core that you have to send back.

Is this turbo the same as the stage 3, or is it better?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

No, definitely its not the same as the Mopar stage 3 turbo. The Mopar stage 3 turbo has a much larger housing, manifold, o2 housing, etc. This turbo is optimal for SRT-4 owners wanting a low cost, replacement turbo that can make about 20% more power (peak) than the factory turbo.
    • Colin
Does this turbo need a tune when installed. My car has never been tuned and is bone stock.
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

It is not necessary, however its highly recommended. Either way if you install this with or without a tune you should be using a air/fuel mixture ratio gauge to monitor your engine to make sure its not too rich or lean, and running safe.
    • Mark Sanchez
Will it be too late to go this route on a 166k engine?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

If your engines compression is good, the car is not smoking or having any issues, you'll be ok. We've had a surprising amount of customers install bigger turbos at close to 150-250k miles with no issues, as long as the car is maintained well.
    • Ryan
Would I be able to run this turbo on my Srt4 with the Syked tuned ecu that you guys carry and not have to worry about getting a tune?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

Yes, it should work, but you'd need to monitor your air fuel mixture ratios with a wideband gauge for safety.
We much more prefer a Diablosport with a custom tune instead.

Is this compatible with your mpx 3.0" O2 housing? Planning on purchasing that along with your mpx exhaust down the road
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

Because this turbo replaces the OEM cartridge with exhaust wheel and intake wheel, it has nothing to do with o2 housings and downpipes. You must reuse your factory cast turbo manifold with the BWS, and because the o2 housing and downpipes bolt to the factory cast turbo manifold, you are fine.

When buying this turbo, is there anything you guys recommend to be replaced or changed out before being put back into the manifold?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

We highly recommend replacing the oil feed line, and putting in new gaskets. Use part number 220229 in the search bar and look at the OEM turbo system components. We recommend buying part number 2, 4 and 5 on the OEM turbo system components page.

what is it "turbine spacer ring" ?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

Its a metal ring, like a large washer that fits between the compressor and exhaust side of the turbo.
    • Max Portrey
