Pull in colder air for more power with the AEM cold air intake!

This intake runs from the turbo, around and in front of the battery, then down into the wheel well. The filter sits low enough to pull cooler air that is not heated by the engine, for maximum power. This intake was tested on a relatively stock SRT-4 and gained a peak of 8 horsepower and 13 lbs of torque. At 4400rpm our car gained 12 horsepower and 14 lbs of torque at the wheels!

This AEM cold air intake is available in polished, red and silver. (Blue is now discontinued, no more left!) This intake was revised back around 2007 from a two piece aluminum intake kit to a aluminum upper and lower plastic ducting. The plastic ducting fits better than the old aluminum lower ducting. It also includes an aluminum shield to protect the filter from water and debris.

Utilizing full 3 inch piping, this intake can flow way more air than most other air intakes. It also uses a 3 inch dry flow air filter. There is no cutting needed to install this intake. It's a bolt on intake, and comes complete with couplers, clamps and installation instructions.

Once I purchase an AEM cold air intake for a 05 SRT-4 will I have to replace the MAS as well?

  There is no need to replace your stock MAP sensor with this intake. In fact, there is nothing else needed during, or after install. Its very straightforward, and comes with instructions. Simiple hand tools are all thats needed, ie, 8mm, 10mm, 13mm sockets, phillips screwdriver.

  Yes the cold air system will give you a slight gain over a short ram.

i noticed in the picture of the intake installed it is all polished but the picture of the kit itself only shows half of it polished is there an option for all polished

  AEM only offers what we supply in the picture. If you wanted something all poilished im sure you would have to get that custom made somewhere.

i had a short ram aem intake but just ordered a new turbo from yall, gt30r. which one would be better if any difference, this aem cai or the agp intake?

  Both are great air intakes and are very similar in design. the only benefit of the AGP is that if you have a 4 inch inlet turbo, then you can get the AGP intake with a 4 inch elbow whereas the AEM has a 2.5 inch reducer to bolt onto the factory turbo.

Will this kit work with a stock 2 1/2 inch factory turbo inlet or do I need to buy an adapter separately?

  This intake was specifically designed for use with the factory turbo, there is nothing else needed. If you have a larger NON OEM turbo that uses anything other than a 2.5 inch id, then you'll need a different coupler at that point.

How much clearance will this intake have to the wheels? My car is very low, maybe 6"-8" clearance from the hole in the fender to the tire (no wheel wells). Will it fit?

  This intake does not sit the filter lower than the bottom of the bumper. Plus, it comes with an aluminum splash shield so its well protected.

  Yes of course. You can see the aluminum bracket in the parts photos, and the solenoids mount to the battery tray with it.

Will this clear the DC Sports strut tower brace? Was that the fitment adjustment from '06?

  Yes, this clears all strut braces made for the Neon SRT-4. There is no fitment issues with this intake with any other combination of parts. The revision in 2006 was to make this intake with the lower plastic duct instead of the lower duct being made in aluminum. This allows the intake to fit better with the plastic duct due to clearance issues in the fenderwell.
