I am seriously considering this as a replacement piece in my Neon, but I need to know beforehand if it will be effective enough to NOT throw a code with a stock computer.

We've used these in a lot of vehicles and our MPx downpipes with no problems. You'd have no issue with your Neon.

Wher does the oxygen sensor go ?,since the caliber has one in the middle of the stock catalytic converter.
      1 Answer
      • Modern Performance

This is a universal catalytic convertor and if you want to use this, you'll need to cut whatever piping you have in your downpipe and weld this in place. Then, your downstream oxygen sensor will need to be put AFTER the catalytic convertor to monitor the exhaust gases after the convertor.

Is this replacement 50 State Legal?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

These are not valid for use in the state of California. We cannot accurately promise you'll be fine in all other states, however our experience has been that you'll be fine in other emissions testing states. Vibrant has a catalytic convertor that is 50 state legal however they are 4-5 times more expensive than this one.

Hi, what is the max power this cat can handle? I'm running a big turbo setup ported Head shooting for 500+ whp.

      • Customer Service Rep

This cat is rated for a little less than 500 hp. You could still use it Im sure, but, here is the problem: cars making big power levels like this, are frequently running very rich, and or using two step launch/no lift shift controls, and those two things will destroy a cat. So, most guys that are using this catalytic converter are typically in the 200-400hp range. You can still use this if you have more power and are not running super rich/running the two step/no lift shift devices.

Does it help reduce exhaust noise compared to the catless downpipe
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

Yes definitely. A catalytic converter acts like a muffler of sorts, and you can expect about a 20% sound reduction by adding a catalytic converter.
