**GUARANTEED no check engine lights with the INJEN intake!**

This intake is offered in polished and in gloss black.

Injen technology is well known for their air intake systems that look good, fit well, made here in the USA, and dyno tuned to produce the maximum amount of power possible!

We supplied our 2013 Dart with 1.4 Turbo engine to Injen, and helped bring this intake to market. This intake was developed on our car! We're very pleased with the results! We've seen a 7 hp gain over stock with this intake, and after installation you'll notice the turbo whistle and blow off valve noise more as well

Injen has designed this intake to be a convertible type intake. It can easily be changed from a cold air intake to a short ram for the rainy season if you desire due to its two piece design.

Furthermore, this Injen Intake has all of the factory style specialty connections, so you don't have to "modify" the unserviceable factory hardline plastic plumbing.

  • Fits 2013 and 2014 Darts with 1.4 liter motors. Will not fit the 2015+ Darts with 1.4's unless you install a vacuum tee to convert the two vacuum connections from the engine to the single vacuum port on this intake.
  • The Dart front end has a plastic under tray that protects the filter from water, and dirt, so you don't have to worry about water ingestion or dirt exposure.

This intake uses a 3 inch inlet air filter.

Does this part come with a splash guard? And what is the gauge size is the piping?
    1 Answer
    • Modern Performance

There is no splash guard as the filter is inside the bumper, which has a lower valance which protects the bumper from water. The sizing of the piping varies from 3 inch to 2.25 as it tapers down to the inlet of the turbo.
  • Casey
Does this intake come with a CARB-legal sticker? Will it pass smog with this part?
    1 Answer
    • Modern Performance

CARB only applies to California drivers, this is not of importance to anyone outside of California.

This part, and about 99.8% of all other parts are NOT CARB compliant as most manufacturers dont want to spend the time and effort needed to get CARB compliance.

As of this writing (July 2013) Injen is pending CARB approval, but it is not passed yet for this intake. So, if you live in California, and you went to the carb testing, this would not pass.
  • Thomas
When putting on the Air Intake are you able to hear the stock BOV?
    1 Answer
    • Modern Performance

Yes, you'll hear more of the stock OEM diverter valve with the Injen intake installed.
  • cj
Does the front bumper have to be removed for the install? Or is it off just to show the look.
    1 Answer
    • Modern Performance

The photo shows the front bumper off to show the location of the filter/tubing. You do not need to remove the bumper completely, only pull the bumper out on the passenger corner to access the oem air duct.

I live in the northeast, its snowy in the fall and winter and rainy in the spring summer. Do I keep it always at the short ram? Is it bad for the car as short ram? Last will I see a hp drop at short ram?
    1 Answer
    • Modern Performance

In very cold temperatures, you wont see much of a difference in power between the short ram and cold air style. So, you could just use the short ram for winter and for summer when it warms up use the cold air extension.

How to pull out bumper enough to take duct work out.
    2 Answers
    • Modern Performance

You do not need to pull the bumper off to install this air intake.
    • Kris

You do have to remove the bumper to install cold air intake, but not the short ram. Someone had said you need some ramps, but I did it without. It was a bigger job than I had thought it would be, taking me by myself about 4hrs. Someone said only 1.5 hrs but maybe they had a lift and a snap on tool set with air tools or something. The every day type it will take longer. Tools I used. 10mm & 8mm socket, channel locks, flat head screw driver and a short crescent wrench. Great product great sound

  • Kris
    Is this the SP intake?
    1 Answer
    • Modern Performance

Yes, this is the SP intake designed to fit the manual and automatic 1.4 Turbo Dart.

Will this void the existing warranty?
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

Dealerships generally do not care about air intakes and exhausts. So, you shouldnt fear about installing an air intake like this under warranty. If you ever need service and are concerned, you could remove the intake and put on your factory airbox within about an hour.
  • Taylor
Doing any of these modifications like exhaust and this product, do you need to dyno and have stuff tuned differently?
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

No, since the Dart is a map sensor based car, it adapts to modifications and does not need to be tuned every time you install a new part.
  • David
Why would I buy cold air intake over a drop in K&N air filter when I get the same hp gains for cheaper? Just trying to decide which one to get and makes more sense.. Thanks!
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

The K&N drop in filter will give you 2, maybe 3 hp maximum. The INJEN intake has been dynoed to give 7wheel hp, or nearly 10 hp, plus it gives a great sound. The INJEN is the better of the two, however we sell the K&N drop in filter for those Dart owners that want to keep the factory airbox.

I have a 2013 Dodge Dart 1.4 turbo. Its an automatic. would this Intake be compatible?
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

The model of Injen intake we sell will fit the automatic Dart with no problems.
  • Chris
I installed this on my dart 1.4 turbo today. The pressure blows off during hard acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear. I checked all the fittings and all tight. Will the ECU adjust to the new intake. Or is there something wrong.
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

After you install an aftermarket air intake on your Dart 1.4 Turbo, you'll hear more engine noises, including the blow off valve. That doesn't mean something is wrong, its just part of the design. You gain power, because you don't have all of the restrictions the factory intake has to make it quiet. As long as you don't feel a loss of power, don't worry, you're fine!
  • Brandon
Would you say their is much difference in the stock BOV compared to the one I can purchase from you when it comes to sound after installing the cold air intake?
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

Sound level wise its similar between air intake plus oem diverter vs air intake + forge valve. The difference is that with the oem diverter, the noise is the oem diverter resonating inside the intake tube. With the Forge, the pressurized air resonates in the engine bay.
  • Josh
Any plans for a 2015 version?
    1 Answer
    • customer service rep

The difference between a 2014 and 2015 1.4 is the 2015 has two vacuum connections.

So, you can use this intake, and a vacuum y nipple to attach both of your hoses to the single port on the intake. You can get a simple vacuum y at your local auto parts store.

Injen will revise this intake in the future so it will work with the 2015 as well, but we're not sure how far off that is in the future. For now, its a simple fix.
  • Emanuel
Can this be used on the 1.4 Turbo Jeep Renegade?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

No, the angle is different from the intake to turbo inlet on the Renegade and this intake is not compatible.
  • Cedric
Will I be able to keep the intake all year long (in the snow in winter) or I will need to remove it for the winter ?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The Dart has a plastic lower valance that completely seals off the underside of the car. Therefore, the engine bay is pretty well sealed off, and you can run a cold air year long and not be worried about packing the filter full of snow or anything.
  • Aron
What is the size/specs of the air filter? I purchased this item in 2014 and looking to replace filter but want to make sure I get the right one.
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The Injen intake for the Dart with 1.4 turbo engine uses the X-1049bb filter. We keep it in stock, its our part number: 226134. Search for it in our search bar on the website to find it and order it from us.
  • michael
can you use a forge blow off plate with this product?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes of course. There is plenty of room around where the OEM diverter goes with this intake. Its tight though with the factory intake due to the factory intake having a large water trap right before the turbo, and right where the Forge spacer goes.
  • Dustin Smith
I have removed the underside tray from my dart as it was damaged and I did not replace it, would running the cold air intake with the splash guard be enough to prevent water intake?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The shield under the Dart prevents water from splashing onto the engine belts, accessories. If you have this intake and do not have a shield, it will still get wet, which is ok. You just need to make sure to not to submerge the filter in water.
  • Cornelio Gomez
Has this intake received carb approval ? I need to smog next month and was just wondering if there any update on this
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

For anyone in California that needs to meet CARB emissions rules, its best to check on injen.com in their CARB section. Yes, the 2013-2016 Dart with 1.4 has a CARB number of D-476-11.
