Model Number: 226307

This strut bar helps to stiffen the front end which allows for better cornering and handling by structurally reinforcing the front suspension towers.

This strut bar works with all 2013-2016 Darts with 2.0 and 2.4 engine. Its also been test fitted to work fine on the 2013-present Jeep Cherokee with either 2.0 Turbo/2.4 four cylinder or v6 engine. We have also found it to fit the 2015-2016 Chrysler 200 with 2.4 four cylinder engine. Fits with automatic and manual transmission Darts, works with or without the stock engine cover, also works with ALL intakes whether you have a factory air intake, or AFE, Injen, etc.

The ONLY fitment issue we have ever had, is some 2015 and 2016 Darts with 2.4 have a plastic cover attached to the top of the strut mounts that need to be removed to install the strut bar.

All hardware is included, as well as instructions.

  • Matt
Will this clear enough room for the Injen cold air intake?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes, like we mention on the product page, this will fit with all factory air intakes and aftermarket air intakes. If you look at the photos you'll see we have a lot of room for intakes to go under the strut bar.

Would you guys be able to powder coat it for me? Or do you not do that? thanks
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Sorry we only offer this in polished, we do not offer powdercoating.

Is this an easy bolt-on or do I have to drill a hole for it to fully fit? I have a 2014 GT
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

This is a bolt on piece, no drilling is needed. Some 2.0/2.4's have a plastic cover piece around the strut tower that will need to be removed if your Dart has it installed.
  • Matt
I purchased a strut bar on my neon (it was cheap) and it did not allow enough clearance for the washer fluid hose. It rubbed and I had to remove it. Will I have any clearance issues with this piece?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

You can see in our installed photos that there is nothing that has interference. Also, we built no less than 12 prototypes to make sure all of the angles are completely correct and there is NO issues with intakes, engine covers, fluid reservoirs, etc. Its all good.

Will this brace fit a 16 Dart GT with sport hood w/ Mopar ram air intake?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes, this strut bar fits all air intakes for the 2.0/2.4, and fits with all hoods. Whatever you got, if you have a Dart with a 2.0 or 2.4, you are good to go.
  • Nick Griffy
Does a strut bar directly bolt to the strut itself?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

This strut bar mounts to the strut mount. The strut mount is the pressed steel part of the body that the strut mounts too. Then this mounts on top of the strut mount, further reinforcing the front end of the body of the Dart.
  • Tyler Dyer
Does the strut bar bolt on just from the top or will you need to get into the wheel well also? Thanks.
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The strut bar is on top of the strut mounts, but two bolts per side pass through the holes in the strut mount, and are tightened down inside the wheel wells. Some customers have removed the wheels to access these bolts, but some just jacked the car up in the air so the wheels would come down and give room to tighten the nuts.
  • Zack
do either of the struts have to be removed? or is it a rather easy/simple install?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

No, struts do not need to be removed. Here is the installation process in a nutshell.
      1) Open hood
      2) Put strut ends on top of strut mounts.
      3) Use two bolts per strut end, and either with wheels off the car, or the car jacked up, tighten down the two bolts per side.
      4) Attach the center bar to the strut ends.
      5) You are done.

What material is used for the plates, and the bar? Mild steel?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The plates are made of steel, the bar is made from aluminum.

    Hello!
I own a 2015 chrysler 200 and was wondering if this would fit onto my car.
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes, we have had customers with Chrysler 200's install this Dart 2.0/2.4 bar onto their Chrysler 200's with 2.4 engine.

Chrysler 200 owners that have the V6 have used our Dart 1.4 strut bar.

I'm planning on getting the BC Coilovers. Based on the photos it looks like this bar will work just fine with no issues ...correct?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes, this works fine with stock suspension, and all coilovers. Furthermore, it works with every intake we have ever seen.
  • Jonathan Harris
Is there a certain orientation that the bar should be mounted? For example, is there a left side and a right side?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes, the strut bar can only be installed one way. Because the cowl hangs over the strut mounts, the strut bar end mounting points must be towards the front of the car. Its impossible to install these backwards as the bar will not fit under the cowl, it must be in front of the cowl.
  • Jason Gibson
Are there replacement mounting bolts for this?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Mounting bolts to the strut mount are: 1 inch long, 5/16 carriage bolt with zinc coating and serrated flange.

If you need other replacement parts you can contact us by email.
