Lets take super hot exhaust gas, filled with carbon, oil and water, and then lets dump that into the intake manifold to heat up incoming air, and gum up the valves. It sounds like a good idea to heat up the intake manifold and head to reduce emissions, but in the long term, it lowers horsepower, and can cause carbon buildup. This kit deletes the EGR system and blocks off the ports on the intake manifold and on the head.

This kit includes:

  • 11 Gauge 304 Stainless Steel Intake Manifold Block Off Plate
  • 11 Gauge 304 Stainless Steel Cylinder Head Block Off Plate
  • Intake Manifold Block Off Plate Gasket
  • Cylinder Head Block Off Plate Gasket
  • Intake Manifold Block Off Plate Flange Head Bolts
  • Cylinder Head Block Off Plate Flange Head Bolts
  • $26.99

Will the egr delete cause a check engine light with the stock pcm? If I run the Syked ECU, will that prevent a check engine light from blocking the EGR?

If you use the EGR block off with a stock pcm, yes you'll get a check engine light. The Syked ecu will make it so the check engine light will not come on with a blocked EGR.

I have a SOHC, but an INDY manifold. Is the INDY manifold a DOHC EGR pattern regardless of which head it's for?

      • Customer Service Rep

Yes, correct. The Indy manifold uses the dohc lower EGR design. So if you have an Indy manifold you should get the dohc kit.

Will the EGR delete cause a check engine light with a Mopar Performance PCM?
      1 Answer
      • Customer Service Rep

That's difficult to answer because throughout the production run of the Mopar Performance PCM, most would ignore the EGR system, however, near the end of the production run some Mopar pcm's did not ignore EGR and the downstream cat oxygen sensor. So, we cannot guarantee you wont have a check engine light due to the Mopar PCM variances.
