The TurboXS SML Hybrid Diverter Valve is designed specifically to replace the OEM surge valve used on the 03-05 Neon SRT-4 stock turbo, Mopar Stage 3 turbo, Caliber SRT-4, and 03-10 PT Cruiser Turbo.

This valve will replace your worn out, or leaking OEM diverter, and it features a dual o-ring design for superior sealing. This hybrid diverter has a special design that allows for recirculating boost at low boost pressures for faster boost response, and it releases to atmosphere at higher boost pressures for a cool whoosh noise.

This valve installs in the factory location, and should be run off the factory diverter vacuum line and solenoid (just like the factory diverter was).

If you are ever doing a boost leak test with the SML installed, it will release pressure during a boost leak test if the vehicle is turned off and the vacuum solenoids are not actively maintaining equal pressure on both sides of the diaphragm. In order to avoid this (while you are doing a boost leak test), we recommend capping the factory solenoid and running a new line to a vacuum source like the intake manifold only during testing.

This is a Hybrid valve, so it recirculates and vents to atmosphere depending on boost levels. It can be pretty loud on blow off under full boost but will never be as loud as a full vent to atmosphere bov. Watch videos of it, you can see the valve open to vent to atmosphere, under lower boost levels or vacuum it will recirculate like the stock surge valve and not be loud at all. I've had mine for about a year and love it.

This is a hybrid valve, it recirculates at lower boost pressures, and vents to atmosphere at higher boost pressures.

Is this able to be installed on a stock set up waiting for an upgraded wastegate to go with it.?

Definitely, this works great on all stock turbocharger units, and the stage 3 Mopar turbocharger.

Is this product able to used with the mopar blow off plate?

We are not sure why you'd want to do that, this valve should be used by itself, no point in using the Mopar noise plate with this.

is the turboxs louder then the stock

Well, the factory diverter is quiet, and does not release to atmosphere at all. This valve releases to atmosphere at higher boost pressures and will be loud once opening at 5-10+ psi.

if i purchase this and it fails is there a rebuild kit available or do i have to buy a whole new valve

TurboXS has rebuild components for the SML. Its doubtful you'll have any problems for 10-15 years, so thats quite a long ways in the future.

Does this have a spring in it that could handle around 18 PSi? I am currently boosting 18 pounds right now thanks

TurboXS rates this as working fine from 10-30psi.

I have the stock blow off valve. It leaks some on the one side. Q: Would this unit fix that issue, and #2 what would the benefit of this unit be from a boost outlook? I'm on stock turbo, with all the bolt ones.
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The advantage of this unit, is that it has a strong spring, and a brand new inner diaphragm that isn't over 10 years old! If you have a stock diverter valve, the inner diaphragm could be worn, and the spring weak, and you could be loosing some boost pressure.

Should I use the factory solenoid and vacuum line to install the SML Valve, or should I run a line directly to another vacuum source?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

This valve can be installed with either vacuum source, but due to the stronger spring we typically recommend installing it like any other aftermarket BOV, and running a line to a vacuum source near the intake manifold / throttle body area.

I live in California will this pass smog? I have a mopar blue plate and it fail visual smog cause it have no carb eo #.

    • Customer Service Rep

(This ONLY applies to customers living in California with strict CARB emissions testing). If you live in California and failed due to a Mopar blue noise plate, then this will not pass either. There are really only two items approved for use in California due to CARB, and its the AEM intakes and K&N air intakes.

I have the mopar blue plate on my car now will this be louder then that plate
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

This really should not be louder than the Mopar blue plate. The benefit of this, is that its a brand new diverter, and not one that was made in 2003/2004/2005 and possibly worn out. The OEM diverter was designed to withstand 0-high teens boost pressure, whereas this can withstand into the low to mid 20's boost pressure easily.

around how much boost should i be pushing so it can sound louder than stock

We have never seen TurboXS release a exact figure, but most likely it will be above 5-7 psi it will vent to atmosphere instead of recirculating.

What's the difference between this and a blow off valve. I have a caliber srt4. Regarding noise levell is this as loud or louder than a blow off valve'

This operates a lot like the factory diverter valve, except its an upgraded version with stronger springs, newer seals, etc. This will take the compressed air and recirculate it back into the turbo like the factory diverter, whereas a aftermarket HKS/Greddy will release to atmosphere. Also the HKS And Greddy are way stronger, designed to handle 20-30 psi easily.
