When running higher boost levels, we have seen many cases of PCV valve failures (blowing out its internals into the valve cover), causing a massive pressurization/ Vacuum leak in the crank case. When you pressurize the crank case, it can blow seals out, have many gaskets leak oil, and cause oil to push through the turbo seals making your car smoke out of the exhaust or contaminate the charge piping.

To help assist the PCV from coming apart from higher boost levels than it was designed for, we have designed an inexpensive billet 8mm check valve to be put between the PCV valve and intake manifold. If you are running a catch can, this valve is to be installed between the catch can and intake manifold. The MPx check valve has been pressure tested up to 125psi and opens at a mere 1inHg of vacuum. This valve comes in an anodized black and has a directional arrow to ensure proper direction of installation (arrow points towards intake manifold source, points away from PCV valve).

Is this unit compatible for a 08 dodge caliber srt4

The Caliber normally uses a 10mm size hose, and this is much smaller so its not going to work correctly. For now, we are using it only for the 03-05 Dodge SRT4.

If i bought mpx catch can do i need this or it's better to use it ?

The check valve works to prevent boost from the intake manifold pressurizing the cylinder head. The oem pcv valve does a decent job, but can fail. So, this check valve helps to make sure you have no boost blowing into the head. Its definitely a good piece to have.

Can this check valve be used to prevent boost to a MAP sensor?

You could, but its not what we designed it for. There are map sensor check valves by a company called missing link that are more designed for your application.

since i have a agp oil accumulator where can i install this check valve at is it after the oil accumulator

This should be installed in between your catch can and intake manifold to prevent pressurized air reaching the catch can.

Does it matter which direction the arrow points?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The arrow points in the direction of the flow. So, if you are installing this on a pcv line, which goes from PCV to intake manifold, the arrow should point to the intake manifold as that's the way the vapors flow.

I'm running stock boost. Do I need this?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Its a good idea for all SRT-4 Neons to have a check valve like this. The more boost pressure you have the more useful this will be of benefit to prevent damage to the pcv valve, and cause upper cylinder head pressurization.

Will the valve seals resist to oil and gas fumes?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Yes of course. This is not a check valve made for a Aquarium or for some industrial machinery that is being used on our cars. This is a purpose made, check valve made from scratch for use with turbocharged cars. Since we began selling these in January 2015, we have not heard of a single failure.

Does the check valve fit the hoses that come with the mpx catch can?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

This check valve is a 8mm size. It works perfectly with the hose that comes on the Neon SRT4 catch cans, or works great with any other car that uses 8mm inside diameter hosing.
