Now you may ask yourself, why would I want a adjustable shifter, why dont you just make a 50% reduction and be done with it!? Good question. You see, the more throw you reduce, the more difficult the car can be to get into gear, and go through the gears. Also, if you already have a short throw shifter stalk inside the car, and want this shifter arm, then you may need even less throw reduction for your perfect combination. The reason for this is that if the clutch pedal is pushed down and the slave cylinder\/transmission are not bolted to the engine, the slave cylinder bearing will pop out of the slave cylinder housing and will be forever damaged. Therefore, please do not push on the pedal or try to bleed the slave if the slave cylinder and transmission are not bolted back up to the engine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNote: the Dart has a unique hydraulic system in that the clutch hydraulics and the braking system share the same fluid and reservoir. Most other cars have separate systems for brake and clutch hydraulics. So when replacing clutch hydraulics, we highly recommend flushing the braking system to make sure all old, burnt up oil with debris is flushed out and doesn't contaminate the new clutch hydraulics.
