Check back often as we continue to add new performance parts and accessories.\u003c\/p\u003e","products":[{"product_id":"mpx-heatshield-intake-manifold-gasket-2024-naturbo-srt-4pt-gt","title":"MPx HeatShield Intake manifold gasket 2.0\/2.4 NA\/Turbo SRT-4\/PT GT","description":"\u003cp\u003eFor many years, we offered the Hondata Heatshield Intake manifold gaskets for the 95-99 Neon and the 03-05 SRT-4\/03-09 PT Cruiser Turbo.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe gasket did the job well for us, insulating the intake manifold from absorbing heat from the extremely hot cylinder head.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFact: For every ten degrees fahrenheit rise in intake temperature, air density drops 1%. The hotter the air, the less fuel the computer injects to compensate for reduced oxygen. Around town, testing has shown an average drop of around 15 degrees F which is good for around 3 percent power increase. In certain conditions a 45 degrees F drop has been measured.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFast forward to 2024, and Hondata discontinued their gaskets. We decided we would make our own.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere were two issues that we wanted to improve on.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e1) Since Hondata used the factory intake manifold gasket design, the Hondata gasket was extremely thin in width, especially around the ears of the intake manifold. Because these gaskets compress slightly when the manifold bolts are torqued down, we had some customers break the ears off their intake manifolds because the gaskets collapsed before achieving the proper torque spec. Since we have a lot more material around the bolt holes, we have addressed this issue.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2) Since Hondata's design was so thin in areas, we noticed when we would remove intake manifolds that some of the gaskets were bowing outward, which we did not like. Next we ran a bead of silicone around the outer perimeter, around the tweeter holes, and defroster vents. Then we installed the cover onto the OEM dash pad, and laid out microfiber towels and some weights on the dash to hold it down while the silicone dries.
