Have you ever felt like the OEM manual transmission shift knob in the Dart/Renegade is like a pickup truck knob? Do you hate the cheap plastic look, and feel? If so, MPx has designed the perfect shift knob to compliment the interior while improving your experience between gear shifts!

This two piece designed MPx shift knob is machined out of 6061-T6 aluminum, to a size that is about 20% smaller than the OEM Knob. Then the shift pattern is CNC'd into the top and polished to an amazing mirror finish!

Typically when removing the OEM shift knob, it seems to get cosmetically damaged every time it is removed. Indentations, scratches, and paint chips are results from prying the top half off to access the nut that secures it to the shift stock. The MPx shift knob would be perfect to install at the same time a short throw is installed!

Yes, correct, we start with a billet aluminum piece, then CNC machine it down to what you see. Its a great looking piece, and it feels solid in your hand!

Does the MPx knob screw together or does it press together like the stock knob?

The factory knob slides down on the shifter assembly and then is locked into place with a nut on top. This has the exact same design as factory, and is very solid.

Once I have this knob installed, if the scenario comes where I need to remove it again, is there any risk of damage/replacing the MPx shift knob? This has happened with the factory knob on a friend's Dart GT.

Yes, if you look closely you can see the center around the shift gate pattern has a ring. That is where the center part can be removed. Right above the MPx lettering, there is a notch, that can allow you to pry the top off. After you pry the top off, you can remove the nut that holds the shift knob to the shift stalk.

Does this interfere with/involve the removal of, the sliding ring thingy that inhibits entering reverse unless you squeeze it up into the knob?

You are referring to the reverse lockout. This knob works with, and does not require removal of the reverse lockout to be installed.
