The incredible amount of heat the Turbocharger on the SRT-4 has been known to damage (literally melt!) spark plug wires and heat coil packs to temperatures higher than 275+ degrees fahrenheit and more!

You have probably seen pictures of the stock spark plug wires on SRT-4 on the internet where the wires melted due to the heat and eventually would cause a rough idle, and surges under throttle.

MPx has a solution for this. We created a beautiful brushed aluminum heat shield wide enough to protect the two types of wires that are used on the SRT-4. Both the angled wires and the straight boot wires. This heat shield also protects the coil pack from the incredible heat as well. This piece is very easy to install and uses the same four bolts that the stock coil pack uses. With just a socket set you can take off your coil pack (no need to remove the wires) and install this heat shield with the factory bolts. Now your wires and coil pack are protected from the heat coming from the turbocharger!

Note : for testing we used a Raytek temperature gun and tested the temperature on the #4 wire which is closest to the turbo. Without the heat shield we saw temperatures of anywhere from 214 to 243 degrees fahrenheit.

After installing the heat shield we saw temperatures between 181 and 209. That's nearly a 35-40 degree reduction in temperature! Protect your expensive wires and coil pack today with a MPx coil pack and wire heat shield!

(MPx heat shield shown with the Granatelli Coil pack, which is NOT included).
