I bought the hurst shifter offered for the cobalt that is now discontinued threw you guys. Will this knob work as a replacement knob for that shifter?

  No, this will not fit the Cobalt. The Cobalt shifter used a shift knob that fit over top of the reverse lockout mechanism and this will not work with that.
