WE HAVE LIMITED QUANTITIES IN STOCK FOR 00-01 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ONLY   MPX Background First off, for those of you who are not familiar with the MPx brand, MPx is the exclusive brand to Modern Performance. When you see a MPx product, it's a product that's been brought to market by Modern Performance and is not available anywhere else. We try to bring products to market with the MPx brand that are extremely high quality, and competitively priced. Quality MPx released the first throttle body for the 95-99 Neon back in late 1998. Since then, thousands of Neon owners have increased their Neons throttle response, and power with the addition of the MPx throttle body for their first gen Neons. Over the years, MPx has revised the throttle body design, constantly improving the designs of the throttle body, testing out new materials, new throttle linkage designs and different anti corrosion hard coatings. MPx has an incredible amount of experience Making throttle bodies for Neons and MPx now brings to the table their experience to make the 2000-2005 Neon throttle body ! Assembly In making the 00-05 Neon throttle body, we start from a chunk of billet aluminum, and then machine it through several complicated steps on a CNC machine. This machine is incredibly accurate And is used to make Space Shuttle parts, and to make precision stainless steel medical instruments and special valves. After the piece is machined into what you see here, we then use a special hard coat process to form a special coating on the throttle body to keep it free of corrosive damage, and to keep it looking good. Its then assembled with a throttle plate, other hardware is attached and then the piece is adjusted, double checked to make sure it opens and closes perfectly. Power We use two methods to increase power in your Neon with this throttle body. First, the bore in the throttle body is 60mm, whereas the stock throttle body bore is 49mm to eliminate the stock size restriction. Because of the way the throttle plate opens, and because of the larger bore, the throttle body will allow a lot more air to flow into the engine increasing the power output. We also incorporate a venturi design to speed the air velocity into the engine. The venture also helps to make the engine less jumpy than a non venturi design. If you use this throttle body with a simple bolt on car, ie, with intake and muffler you can gain about 4-5 hp, and if you have a simple bolt on car with the addition of cams, headwork, you can gain as much as 7-8 hp in some rpm ranges on the dyno ! Size, Colors We offer the MPx throttle body in a 60mm size so that you can use it with all aftermarket air intake systems like the Iceman intake and the AEM intake systems. We also offer the throttle body in Silver or Polished. Polished costs more as it takes more labor to finish. Fitments The MPx throttle body is offered in two varieties. First, a 2000-2005 Manual and 2002-2005 Automatic type, and then a 2000-2001 Automatic type. The 2000-2001 Automatic type uses the three speed transmission which uses a kick down cable and is different from the four speed automatic throttle body from 2002-2005. READ THIS IF YOU HAVE A AUTOMATIC 2001-2002 NEON So if you have a Automatic 01-02 Neon, its important to know if you have the three speed or four speed transmission. You can find this out by simply counting the gears from 0-80 mph if your not sure, or check your owners manual. All 2001's should have the 3 speed automatic, all 2002's should have the four speed but you should check if you have either 2001-2002 just to make sure. AGAIN you only need to worry about that if you have a 2001-2002 Automatic ! READ THIS IF YOU HAVE AN EARLY 2000 MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC NEON The early 2000 model Neons used a style of sensor like the 95-99 Neon used for the IAC motor on top of the throttle body. This sensor bolted into the throttle body at an angle whereas the 2001-2005 style Neons used an IAC that bolted on from the top. We have made a aluminum adapter that mounts to the top of the MPx throttle body so that you can use the early style sensor if you have a early 2000 Neon. We sell it separately for $24.99 . If you have a 2000 Neon, please check your sensor on top of the throttle body to make sure which sensor you have and if you need the adapter.
